


The two approaches have different points of view in highlighting the educational side. From the research results, it can be found that, philosophically, the concept of Early Childhood Education, according to Abdurrahman An-Nahlawi, is attached to the perennial normative approach, while Maria Montessori’s notion is more towards a constructivism approach. The research method used was a literature study by collecting various references that can support research. Based on the above, this study explores the two figures’ thoughts to give birth to a new paradigm of education for early childhood. The two figures have similarities and differences in their underlying points of view and approaches, and these cannot be separated from the philosophical study behind them.

Issues on this concept did not escape the attention of Abdurrahman An-Nahlawi and Maria Montessori. This research is motivated by the concept of Early Childhood Education offered by various educational figures to impact the emergence of increasingly dynamic educational theories. Orangtua adalah penentu kehidupan anak sebelum mereka hidup mandiri. Jika orangtua kurang memahami kebutuhan anak disabilitas, maka anak tersebut kekurangan perhatian di dalam keluarga. Ini sangat berkaitan erat dengan kegiatan ibu dalam mendidik anak berkebutuhan khusus karena memiliki sifat yang ramah terhadap anak. Khususnya ibu yang memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam memahami kebutuhan perkembangan anak. Mereka adalah teladan baik untuk membantu anaknya hidup mandiri. Orangtua juga memiliki peran sebagai penerima segala kekurangan yang dimiliki oleh anaknya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa orangtua memiliki peran yang sangat penting karena sebagai teladan, pendidik dan pemberi kasih sayang terhadap anak.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Abstrak Penelitian ini mencari informasi tentang bagaimana pola asuh orangtua terhadap anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus di Kota Makassar. Therefore, it is the responsibility of parents to fully accept the existence of their children and treat them equally in all aspects of life with children in general without any discriminatory attitude and to provide the widest possible opportunity for education. Parents are the determinants of a child's life before and after birth. If parents lack understanding of children with special needs, it can result in a lack of attention and consider the child to be unlucky in the family. This is related to the mother's acceptance of children with disabilities, which is shown in the attitude to face children. The mother as one of the parents of children with special needs has an important role in understanding the needs and development of their children. Parents are the best guides and helpers for the independence of children with special needs. The role of parents in the acceptance of children with special needs is very important. The results of the study show that parents are key figures who play a very important role in providing role models, guidance, and affection in the process of child development. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. This study aims to explain information about the patterns of family decision making for parents who have children with special needs in the city of Makassar.
